To upgrade and continue to safely and comfortably provide permanent supportive housing for the homeless and mentally ill, the interior renovations to Step Up on Second's 36 occupied units and common spaces included demolition, new paint, vinyl flooring, carpet, cabinetry, and window coverings. The units were vacated from 7 am and 7 pm, with five units turned over per day. Improvements to common areas include the offices, stairwells, corridors, community rooms, restrooms, and the store. The kitchen, which serves both the tenants and the public, was demolished and back in service within three days with new flooring, plumbing, and kitchen equipment. Exterior improvements include the repaint of the entire 60’ exterior, roof replacement, and select mechanical components
