Kristen English serves as the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing of Shangri-La Industries (SLI), a diversified private operating platform with primary interests in opportunistic private equity investments, multi-media and general contracting. She drives the strategy, planning and leadership of the Business Development and Marketing Departments ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems and competencies are in place. Kristen oversees internal and external brand management with special attention to efforts involving the acquisition of new construction and development opportunities. She plays a critical role in maintaining Shangri-La’s relationships with our strategic partners.
Prior to joining Shangri-La in 2010, Kristen managed the overall marketing strategy for several entities within the A/E/C industry including general contracting, landscape architecture, urban planning, real estate investment, development and public art firms. Before the A/E/C industry, Kristen was an Editor for Business Wire, global leader in press release distribution and regulatory disclosure; Managing Editor of the Hometown News, a West Los Angeles community newspaper; and cofounded Gallery 1927 at the historic Fine Arts Building in downtown Los Angeles. She brings to the team over a decade of relevant experience.
Kristen received her MFA, Critical Studies/Fine Art from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and BFA from Otis College of Art & Design.
