Environmental Charter MS Phase I
The Pacific Charter School Development, a non-profit organization who specializes in developing charter schools within chronically overcrowded neighborhoods, entrusted the construction of this LEED Gold Certified Charter Middle School to Shangri-La. The existing, dilapidated site was previously used as a church campus which included two buildings which were renovated as administrative facility and classroom totaling 21,400 SF. The existing framing of the new classroom building was removed due to termite and dry rot damage and new structural steel, concrete and framing was implemented to create a new roof, stairs and a second story. The existing power vault was relocated to a new area due to the redesign of the landscape. Scope included all new drywall, doors, frames, hardware, windows, skylights, millwork, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, FLS, security, paint, carpet, VCT, banquet seating, garage doors, landscaping, parking lot, trash enclosure and property gates.
